Spring Budapest guide by Omorovicza

Most travellers never venture further than the city of Budapest when visiting Hungary, missing a number of cultural and historical sights elsewhere. From wine tasting in Tokaj, to bathing in Lake Heviz, we recommend our favourite things to do in Hungary in spring.

Esztergom
This historical town is the birthplace of the country’s first king, St Stephen. It is also home to a number of beautiful palaces and churches, including the Neo Classical Esztergom Basilica – the seat of the Hungarian Catholic Church.

Lake Heviz
Lake Heviz is the largest thermal lake in Europe and the waters here are a toasty 38.5°C. We source the Hungarian Moor Mud for our products from this very location.

Tokaj
Hungary is becoming increasingly renowned for its sweet wine, primarily from the wine region Tokaj. Make the most of the warmer weather and visit this stunning area for a wine tasting tour.

Hollókő
This UNESCO World Heritage-listed village gives visitors a glimpse into Hungarian life in the 17th and 18th centuries. The village has been preserved as a traditional rural Palócz settlement and is a unique experience you won’t forget!

Pécs
This university town is located on the slopes of the Mecsek mountains. Full of cultural monuments and sights, Pécs is regularly on traveller’s ‘must-see’ list!
